EmployabilityWhat are FSC’s Skills for Life Qualifications?

The Skills for Life qualifications provided by Future Strategies Consulting Ltd (FSC) are unique programmes that offer employers an opportunity to combine subject or skills specific training with literacy and numeracy development.

Our Skills for Life programmes are unique in that the literacy or numeracy qualifications are embedded into our FLEX range of over 300 modules so that, as well as developing your employees’ knowledge, skills and understanding of a subject area of their choice, we also develop their ability to read, write and speak English and to use Mathematics at a level necessary to function and progress at work and in society in general.

How does it work?

Delivered over a period of 13-16 weeks FSC’s Skills for Life qualifications are a unique opportunity to improve your employees’ understanding and knowledge of a work related subject, and their literacy or numeracy ability.

Based on modular workbooks, our specialist trainers deliver Skills for Life qualifications through a series of taught sessions, individual work tasks, activities, structured questions, and assignments.

Whilst completing these activities and developing their portfolio, our specialist trainer will provide your employees with appropriate levels of support and guidance to develop their understanding of the subject and assist in their literacy or numeracy development.

Once your employees have completed their portfolio of subject-based activities, our specialist trainer will then provide them with the appropriate level of support to prepare them to complete the Skills for Life multiple-choice test paper. Completing a Skills for Life multiple-choice test paper will give your employees a nationally recognised certificate to mark their literacy or numeracy development.

Who’s eligible for Skills for Life?

In general all employees above the age of 16 can complete a Skills for Life qualification. However, funding eligibility does play a part in whom FSC can allow on our Skills for Life programmes.
